Nice folks running the festival. Some EXCELLENT films mixed with some very awful ones. It’s still worth the entry and I’d certainly submit again, but there were some small issues with the fest.

The biggest issue was disorganization. One example… No one was minding the theatre door so people would walk in and out of screenings as they pleased. Because most everything ran late and there was no one to ask what was on, we ended up seeing the last 20 minutes of a feature film (that was actually really good – and I wished I’d caught the start of it!) when we were trying to see something else. Because of the tight scheduling, often Q&A was hurried. There was little to no moderation of Q&A sessions.

Apart from these small ‘complaints,’ it was a nice festival overall and if you’re interested in a local festival run by folks who really want to put on a good event, this is a good film festival for you. The organizers really tried to get to know the filmmakers and make them comfortable. They had a lovely screening venue with comfy seats (although sound varied from session to session and picture was a bit overexposed). Like I said… I’d submit again and would recommend it to other filmmakers don’t have top-tier festival expectations.
